Enhance Georgia’s International Standing as a Hub for Global Commerce and Agriculture

Georgia is blessed with a vibrant economy thanks to: $40 billion in exports annually; more than 9,400 manufacturing facilities; a $20 billion annual impact from military and defense; more than 400 Fortune 500 companies; 426,000 tourism jobs: ranking in the Top 3 producers for 12 commodities; and 70% of U.S. payments go through Georgia.

To maintain this stellar competitive edge, our elected officials must:

1. Support international trade – both imports and exports that grow Georgia businesses – via policy, trade missions, international offices and support of federal trade agreements

2. Maintain incentive programs that encourage a competitive tax environment and level playing field for Georgia companies and industries of the future

3. Increase Georgia’s tourism marketing budget to $10 million annually

4. Maintain incentives and workforce training for the Creative Economy

5. Develop strategies and policies to further grow Georgia as the leader in agricultural technology, processing, innovation and distribution through expanded integration with higher education institutions

6. Facilitate the growth of military installations, defense industries, and support service members and families so that Georgia is considered a military friendly state
