In 2018, the Georgia Chamber established the '8 for 18' initiative in an effort to assist both policymakers and voters to make informed choices in the General Election. This platform represents the priorities of businesses of all sizes and defines what it means to be a "pro-business" candidate. While each candidate from the 2018 General Election completed the Georgia Chamber's Statewide Candidate Questionnaire and had their own unique perspectives, it was and still is essential that our elected officials address the eight priorities listed below:

Business Climate

Prioritize the immediate improvement of Georgia’s legal and business climate

Enhance Georgia’s international standing as a hub for global commerce and agriculture

Trade & Commerce

Build and maintain a modern infrastructure system

Ensure all Georgia communities have access
to quality healthcare

Prosperity & Diversity

Bolster economic mobility & diverse, thriving communities

Rural Georgia

Commit to creating and implementing a plan for a
rural renaissance

Develop Georgia as a talent epicenter and grow a diverse and highly skilled workforce

Support Georgia’s
creative economy for
